Cricket India

When most of the people was praying for india to win in the t20 semi final against south africa(SA) i wanted SA to win the cup,

There is a taboo in india that if u do not support india in a cricket game you may be a anti national or a rowdy or even a terrorist from a nearby nation. But i am not sure i will fit into this three options, but why did i want india to loose , one straight answer may be i do not like the same person winning always. So for a change why not the people from other nations celebrate, a similar thing happened in 2012 when wet indies won t20 world cup i was under tremendous joy. Ok, coming to india, not only the trophy matters, but the business on the day of the match, advertisements, and intelligent businessmen wanting millions, sorry crores of people watching their water filter, cool drink, perfume ads, along side even the channel which is broadcasting which had just 2 sister channels, now has nearly 8.  What will happen if India did not come to finals or they loose very early. Ok, no politics and hurting people s sentiments ehh...

Then another reason for SA. I am seeing this team play well since i 3rd standard. i completed 10th, 12th, Engineering, and even joined my 3rd company, but i never got a chance to see Jonty kissing the cup, Kallis being posing with a winning trophy, nor klusener shedding anandha kanneer. Need a even more a mokka punch,
When my Great Grand father was a teenager, SA was in International Cricket ,
when my grandfather was in his teenage SA was banned from cricket,
When my father was in his teenage, they came back and fought with big guns,
When i was at my teenage, lance, jonty,jacques,pat,mark were winning hearts but not trophies,
Now after the generation of Cronje , even Smith retired, but with no trophies in thier shelf, unless they get it from Kaasiappan paathira kaddai .
Anyways prayers of people in large numbers won.

Now India started playing final against SL at t20 2014, If SA is for Semis, SL is for Finals

But as many people say Cricket is a good chance to show our patriotism ,

Coimbatore

Coimbatore. I grew up here. I crawled here. cried here. a piece of land that knows everything about me. I am going to leave from this land for time being to Chennai. it was my father who came here in search of job from his village in a southern part of Tamil nadu. he rooted here. then he married my mother and they came here.then I was born and then my sister. my mother for the first twenty years lived in tirunelveli. the next twenty years at Coimbatore. she was too attached to this place as like most of the people in this city. she don know anything about Chennai . there are streets that I walked more than hundred times. I did my most part of  schooling and college here. now I am working in Chennai for two years and in these two years I was tryin here and there for opportunities to come back to Coimbatore. but some one some where some how wanted me to be in the capital of the state. don know why. so we are in the process of vacating from the Manchester of South India . The city has given us many good times. Our life style was induced by the city. child hood days were given to the city. some pets from nearby houses. dogs cats and few kuti papa s. I wish to come back to this bud in the Western Ghats as soon as possible. so the mystery is gettin folded and unfolded . I am writing this post from a place in our house in Coimbatore where I saw 2003 world cup match between India and Australia. India lost the match. In 2011 when we again reached final against Sri Lanka I came home just to see match from the very same place. Likewise there are many stories that makes me to say my blood group is not AB positive. but also ABC positive along with the land which brought up me.

Clearly my second favourite cricket playing nation for years.

Its very happy to see this wonderful nation play in a final . I think this is the first time I am seeing WI team play in a final . They have won a ICC Championship some years back. But I this is a World Cup . Today they play  in the Finals of the Fourth Edition of ICC T20 WorldCup against SriLanka.

If not Sachin, it will be Lara, may most favourite sportsperson. I don’t know the exact reason why I like him. May be his style , may be his nature. It started from him, my thought towards the Indies in the West. I ve seen some old matches played in 1970's-80’s. It’s clearly this team that ruled the entire globe in cricket. But It was 1983 world cup finals that sealed their fate. It was till the first innings that were clearly the Champions for the third consecutive time. But it was time for the East. So from then their graph took the downfall.

At times player used to roar with some individual performances of Walsh , Ambrose . I used to fear when Walsh came to bowl and the same for the other “Black Magician Ambrose”. Chandrapaul and Hooper shine in some matches. Then I think around 2006-07 where most of the team was restructured with senior players going out and youngsters making their way in lights of Gayle, Samuels, Edwards, Bravo. Once when India played against them I wished Windies to win that ODI. I can never forget the match in India when Marlon Samuels smashed a century and took a pink cloth from his pocket and showed the world. One other thing is they had the first even women commentator in international Cricket.

In 2007 , they had an opportunity to conduct the World Cup . The event was not that received, as India and Pakisthan exited early from the tournament. That time as far as I am concerned I was very glad to see that people over there celebrate Cricket. Play cricket mostly on beaches. Have lots of fun.The same year also had the first ever T20 coming into picture and the introduction of IPL.

From then onwards, the players started gaining respect around the world. With each of the Players playing for different teams and shining individually. Pollard for Mumbai. Bravo for Chennai. Gayle for Banglore. Narine for Kolkata. Then they had the salary issues going in their home country. So most of the players boycotted some games. Now with all settled and these players coming together as a Team is a very positive thing.  

Their opponent, Sri Lanka. The have home support as an added advanatage in this match. Some say they are the favourites. They have few exceptional players. This Cup is needed for their country. As they give the first place to Cricket putting Cinema and Politics behind. That’s why u can find Jayawardane and Sangakara photos in most of the shops banner.  But I want Windies to win the Cup and perform their dance in the ground. I ll consider myself unfortunate to miss this show as I will be travelling, but I ll never stay away from scores and updates on mobile.

So as an East Indian I wish the West Indies to bring home the Cup and Glory

Super Singer Junior

Yes .
I hate super singer junior .
I don know why exactly. but i feel some of these may be the reason.



Running the program for a longer duration. I think its nearly 15 months.

The program has gained many good reviews across the state, but using that factor over the limit for merge popularity and money is little bitter.

Initially reality shows were new to people over here; and i too was fond of it. but now its a different case. Many are bored of seeing reality shows in almost every number remote buttons show.

Making the parents dance or perform is unacceptable . And they make fun of their activities on the same screen itself.

It has brought in a situation where most of the Parents of this age, push their children to a singing class or a dancing class. Its a good thing to get away form book and develop a talent. but it should not come to a stage where go and learn music , so that u can be on tv before u are 15.

What about the childhood of these kids. getting fame is ok. but what about the normal childhood life that other kids get. this factor should not sit in their mind and heart. They are prone to be adamant or unruly. Till now children here have not faced such a situation. More importantly, don make the remaining 1 crore children of the state to feel as if they are unlucky as these kids are enjoying .

The culture . I am worried about the crying or shouting culture. Its just a damn show. The main aim behind this is to increase the TRP rate of show and not to get family united or share sorrows. No one should tell the kids that if u loose something u should cry . At the same time if u achieve something u should get something that makes you happy. My perspective is the if anything happens just calm yourself first and stay stable.

Daily one hour of your time is spent before TV compulsorily. Good or bad??? cant say.

I am not going to say that you should learn anything new or do interesting stuffs from that one hour. If you do what you wanted to do, that is really good. Why have the constrain of sitting before screen at that particular hour. Hurrying up in Traffic, Hypertension to not to miss, stopping people at home to see other channels, getting angry if somebody tunes to other.  If you are enjoyin the program for the music its different thing. I just want to bring the negatives out.  

I am in no way against the Channel or the Program. I was also a fan for it . But now,  when the content and effects of the Program are not acceptable to me. I just stand .

Tamil Cinema & its Location

It s nearly 8 longs years since i started to admire cinemas,
It was in 2003 September , when i first went to a theatre on my own with my friends Manoj  & Manikandan(Qualcom) to Boys movie in Ganga Theatre in Karpagam Complex.
Three movies that year, each after a major examination,
Boys noon show after my Quarterly Exams.
Enaku 20 Unaku 18 after Half-Yearly and
Autograph as a gang after Annual Exams.

But the real attraction towards movies was marked by the movie Kaadhal in 2004.
I was totally into the movie even as a 11th student .
The peak of it was in 2010 when i watched nearly 30 movies in my 8th semester of college within a span of 6 months.
I am not going to further talk of my favourite movies or director or mass hero or collection.
The tiny thing i have choosen is the LOCATION

I am thinkin why i am picked this topic, may be my favourite subject in school is geography .
What is there in a location to talk about.
Does that have any significance on talking.
Will it make a difference!!!
Ok, leaving all such questions aside,
"Open pannuna oru azhagana gramatha kaamikrom" This is a most commonly used dialogues in movies while talking about location.

-------In mid 70s and early 80 movies are based on----------
1. chennai or
2. a poor family in a city or
3. how a man overcomes his problem.
But when BharathiRaja came he took the entire tamil cinema to village with his nativity touch and naatupura musics.
Then from 90s to 2002 it was city life althrough the way and forign song sequences and love.
The came a band of directors who showed nativity beyond villages,
It was BalajiShakthivel and Bala who sat on the driver's seat , they took Kodambakkam tO Theni and Madurai.
When Kathal released it showed how the life of people in madurai can be shown with such reality,
Then went a bunch of directors making all the good looking actors to wear veshti or lungies, clean shaved to beard filled faces.
The from kaathal to manam kothi paravai, the most important numbers are aadukalam, paruthiveeran, mynaa, Kazhugu, then merku paruva katru, poo, Boss.

----------If this is happening in one side, we have people who can go round the globe to bring the best places to Kollywood.---------------

**Manirathnam, has his own identity, even as he not even shot outside India has brought many beautiful places like thanushkodi in kannathil muthamittal, kashmir n ooty in roja, entire madras in alaipayuthae.
**Gowtham vasudev Menon, He is a great lover of Chennai, where he choose chennai as his theme when he shot each movie based on his protagonist living in anna nagar, adyar, tambaram, ECR, aminjikarai. Not to miss he has brought to our all the graet places in INDIA in Nenjukkul Peithidum song.
**Bala - A theni specialist in Pithamagan and Avan ivan. Who knows the land better than he does.
**Suseendran- A man with such variation all his four movies in four direction - VKK in interior villege, NMA in chennai city about love n friends moving places , ASK in Hilly terrain and RP in chennai Gym boys.
**Hari - he should be one of the inspiration for this blog where he aims at shooting movies in different districts of the state starting from Chennai, thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Dindugal, Kovai, Sivagangai, Nagercoil , tiruchy.
**K.V.Anand- who can love one's camera more than he does, the places that are least visited by any international movie makers like Congo, Norway . Not only in foreign places, in Gala Gala song he also has taken us to major highlights of the districts of the state.

If u switch your tv to see any comedy scenes late night you can see thes people performing in any of the channels,  not only they came from this region they also acted most of the movies shot in these locations like murai maanam, maaman magal, chinna thambi periyathambi, Thirumathi Palanichamy.
Sooriya vamsam and kalavani also were shot in and around pollachi for scenic views.
Oh If one talks of Kovai, how can we leave Ooty.
Where Kadhal Kottai, Sachin , Vishnu .
Valparai also has played major roles where Rajathi Raja ,  Kaathalikka Neramillai where shot.

IPL 5,
May 28th 2012.

And finally it marked the end of the season.
A beautiful night for those whos kick started the inaugral version of the IPL with a bang.
The most enthusiatic team among al.
I still remember shah rukh dancing in THE EDEN GARDENS 4 years back near the boundary line.
Shoaib akthar and KHAN enjoying after their victories especially wicket of Sachin in a match.
The Dream started with Rawalpindi express , But it needed a Magician from the Carribean to do it for the KKR.

Opening Batsmans of India, Yorker bowlers of Pakisthan, All rounders of SouthAfrica, Likewise Devastating pacers of West Indies.
But finally from the beaches of Trinidad, the Mystery man Sunil Narine delivered it, single handedly stopped each and every batsman coming in KKRs way to finals. 
But i have this small doubt, his DOB is 1988. such a small guy in international arena .
When he gets wickets or at times got hit also, this guy is simply out of emotions.
Its not that he is inexpressive, he is controling his anger or happiness in such a way that many players like Kohli , Vijay should learn from him.
Anyways its time for the Indian Batsman to solve another mystery like they did against Warne, Muthaiah, Mendis.
But this time, i am sure it ll be harder ride.

One other person who has amazed me is Steve Smith.
Few people look like iron, He is IRON man according to me. Whether it comes to sprinting for runs, or fielding, he s a person who you should watch for in the international and in ipl matches.

Rahul Dravid, who came to collect the Fairplay award for his team. If this person's team is not getting that award you should throw the award to gutters.
Man of values, He is the only reason why i am at times angry on Sachin. Sachin's fame grace has shadowed this man's talent to certain audiances.
His look for the presentation, looked like a golfer, but proud to see a Cricketer in such a Look. He is one person who makes me shout, "Cricket is a GENTLEMAN's GAME".

Sachin, his dismissal in the eliminator, and how he reacted to it, has made cricket proud.
Steyn u are the best pacer in this format. ur over agaist rohit sharma in a league match, simply no words. 
Mallinga, u have practised hours, days and years for your yorkers that only few inhuman can afford to hit u.
David hussey 's catch. The way he watched the ball travelled should be a fielding guide across the world.

Pollard, Bravo , Gayle and Smith . It was very happy that one of my favourite international team has such players like yo.
Pollard's determination to contribute to MI in all three forms were simply amazing. that too in the third format.
One shot he stopped of CSK skipper in Eliminator , there is no other person who could have done that.
Bravo's Six in 45degree and match winnig six of Bhatia 's last ball.
Smith 3 balls 14 runs, how many cricketers could have done that.
Gayle, one or two, normally stroms attack only the coastal areas of India, but the Gayle storm hurricaned in all parts of India.

Pune, ya, yo started well, but soehow things were not good thru ur lenses, but i should thank you for showcasing Ganguly's excitement after his first ball wicket.

Deccan, What one can tell, your team had the most happiest finish among all other teams, you turned out as the Kingmaker by winning the last two matches and sealing the fate of 3 teams, this should have made Gayathri happy.

Rajasthan, I missed to see the excitement for Shilpa and happy that u fighted like real royals where yu missed Watson for most of the matches. Not to miss Rahane the man who set IPL on fire this season.

Punjab, Five teams have proved themselves till now in T20 format in India, and i am sure , Trophy will be coming towards the Heart of India  , It just moved from Legs to Hands now.

Banglore, You were the entertainers . Other teams played for themselves , you were the one who played to entertain 1 billion people. ABD s finish against DC . Gayle's opening almost said the opponent that the opponent can think of winning only if he is out of equation.

Munbaikars, The Battalion, there was one man standing in your way in yellow , There is no other way with the specialist you have in all departments .

Delhi Boys, Not again, it was for your team the Play-Off was initiated . The difference between winning and loosing is one man, if he stands, match wins even if they need to chase 300.

Chennai, Something new for you to experience, Its ok to loose. Yo have proved enough.

Calcutta, And the Howrah has bridged a new hope in taking the trophy from south to North-East. Manvindher Singh , No words, when Gauti failed and when it needed the most, u stood up.

Oh, i think i dint tell about one person.

Well, few tell that u are lucky, few tell you are a hard hitter, few tell that u are a cool customer.
But according to me you are Teacher .
Yes, You tought nearly 10 crore growing kids and the remaining grownups of the nation , on what to do if ur toy is plucked from you by others and how to react . It means that you have grown up or its time for other chaps to have go at it.
This particular toy is not made for one, but when you have it long and you are about to loose it , even the monks go mad to keep it theirs , but no serious arguements or mishaps or shouting or starring to the oppostion which tells loudly to the sporting world that there is something called spirit the lay in a game than just winning it.
